Why does A-Rod strike out so much?
I mean, when you compare strikeout stats to a simple, just above average player, such as Tino Martinez, A-Rod's K's are ridiculous. Tino never reached 100 K's in a single season, whereas A-Rod has well over 100 K's each season.
Tino averaged 66 strikeouts a season, whereas A-Rod averages 108. Tell me, why does he strike out so much? I personally think it's because he gets selfish and tries to be the "hero" and hit a homer. Maybe he should just try to make contact.
You could make the argument that it's because he's a power hitter, Pujols averages 66 K's a season. And Vlad averages 61 K's.
If Pujols and Vlad are power hitters, when why don't they strikeout as much as Alex?
Cartman, Babe Ruth averaged 60 strike outs a year, idiot.
Everyone is right here... Tino was a contact hitter, he slapped the ball around the field for hits to make a living. A-rod drives in runs by hitting home runs and extra base hits. These two contrasting styles will have different strike out number results as well. A contact hitter like Tino just won't strike out as much as a power hitter like A-rod will.
