Tie Mens Neckties
Skinny ties are very controversial among men's fashion pundits. Some say that skinny ties, whose thickness is that of a shoelace, is only fitting for men sixteen and below. Others say that skinny ties are offer a good break from the traditional wider necktie. Changing times means changing norms and mores. Neckties, a popular men's accessory, is not exception but has caused a hot debate in modern fashion. The resolution? Anytime soon.
As a general rule, narrower ties equates to a more modern look. Most men would probably have a collection of conventional "wider" ties which were pretty much a standard, a couple of years (if not decades) ago. If you would notice, most contemporary men who embraced modernity have slimmer ties. The historical records are all in agreement: the 1930s was an outburst of wide ties while the last decade was the eruption of slimmer ones.
But there are also neckties that are too slim. Overly narrow ties caused sensation among fashion howlers. There is also a limit on how slim a tie can be as being too slim can give the insinuation that you mistakenly tied your neck with your shoelace than with your tie. However, the line between slim and too slim ties is not very clear. If you're doubtful follow the rule of thumb: follow your body. This means that slimmer men can get away with very skinny ties, while heavier built men are more apt with wider conservative ties. This creates proportion and makes the tie serve its purpose.
If you're still not sure as to whether your tie is too slim, get a second opinion. Ask your friend or a sibling for an honest opinion after you have evaluated yourself in the mirror and you're still unsure. It wouldn't hurt to bring in an extra person and don't be shy to ask. If you're still on the store purchasing your tie, ask the advice of a sales staff or if you know someone, a fashion expert. You can never go wrong with a second opinion, wherever they may come from.
Do you party like a rock star? You don't have to look like one. Wearing a skinny tie can definitely bring out the vibrant energy of youthfulness in your overall appearance. Wearing it properly and decently though means that your tie has to take center stage and be the focal point of your entire ensemble.
If you don't want to look like a fashion disaster with your skinny tie, follow the three basic requirements. First of all, you need the right build-slim, for that matter-for the skinny tie. If you can't wear skinny jeans because of your build, you can't wear skinny ties either.
Second, go for simpler styles. Thin is in and it's more dramatic in that width. There is no need for prints or design. Lastly, wear your skinny tie with a simpler outfit to create a stark contrast between your clothes and your tie. Let your skinny tie take the center stage and you're sure to be in the limelight too.
