Can stains that have disappeared after dry cleaning reappear?
Can stains that have disappeared after dry cleaning reappear? I had a 100% silk tie dry cleaned 2-3 months ago and they got a soda stain out of it. I had wet it with water as soon as it got dirty and took it to the cleaners within 3 hours of the stain. Now I just took it out of the closet and the stain is there but much bigger. Like it was the solution they use rather than the old stain. Does this happen? Should I take it to be dry cleaned again or just through it out?
Toss it, a tie isn't that expensive, and it more than likely is something that they did. How long ago was it cleaned? You should also be able to take it back to the cleaners and tell them that the stain came back, only larger than before, and the tie hasn't even been worn yet. Some of them will pay to replace it, some of them will try to clean it for free, and then there is always the cleaners that will tell you that you are out of luck.
