What should I wear on this occasion. Please advise?
I have applied for a club membership and soon I will need to appear for an informal meeting with the committee members. The meeting will be informal, but I need to be dressed formally. The rule says - Suit, preferably dark.
I have a navy blue suit (almost black) with thin, thread like stripes.
1. Is it OK for the occasion?
2. What should be the color of the shirt - I wish to buy a new one.
3.What should be the color of the tie? - I wish to buy a new one.
4. Shall I carry my office visiting cards?
5. Shall I carry a pen, if yes shall it be in the inside pocket?
6. How about cufflinks? How about tie pin?

You sound very clued up, your suit sounds fine =] A top tip is to dress for the role you want, dress in the style of people that go there, but in this case, don't be lazy, make an effort:
-Go for a shirt that suits you, I like the colour lilac on men.
-Match your tie to your shirt, don't be tempted by novelty, stripes look good, make sure it's silk.
-Cards will make you seem business-like, keep some in your inside pocket but don't be pushy with them.
- Yes carry a pen, a nice pen though, not a chewed up biro. Keep it in your inside pocket.
- Cufflinks look classy, make sure they are simple and match your shirt, a tie pin is too much.
Keep calm and cool, show your personality, witty humour is always good for a meeting, but don't try with it.
