What are neckties? Basically, these are fabrics that are specifically designed to embellish any man's neck. More often than not, neckties are assembled under the collar of the shirt and tied fashionably just below a man's throat. These neckties are often worn as a part of the entire ensemble or to make a formal wear.
Neckwear can come in different types: they can be bow or straight neckties. Bow ties are typically considered to be formal. They can also be preppy and pretty when bow ties are manufactured with prints and worn over a matching navy coat. However, straight ties are more trendy and fashionable than the conventional bow tie. Straight ties also tend to appear more contemporary as compared to the timeless and old-school bow tie. The customized tie more often are highlighted with woven, knitted, and printed scarves that are made available in a wide array of sizes and finished. Most manufacturers use modern printing methods and dyeing techniques to achieve vibrant colors that will surely compliment the look and feel of any uniform.
There are four types of neckties:
1. Cravat - the origin of this type of neckwear dates as far back as 1600s which is also assumed to be the precursor of the modern necktie. However, nowadays, a necktie is also known as a cravat.
2. Four-in-hand tie - this type of necktie is typically a part of men's formal attire in both Western and non-Western societies. The most commonly worn necktie today is the four-in-hand tie.
3. Six-and-seven-fold tie - this is simply a variation of the four-in-hand necktie. This particular necktie is composed of two or more pieces of silk which are often sewn together before it is folded.
4. Clip on Tie - this is the tie that has a permanent knot. It can be a bow tie or a four-in-hand style using a metal clip that is fastened to the front of the shirt collar. Other people regard this type of necktie lowly although it is more appropriate to wear in specific occupations where a traditional necktie could be a potential safety hazard.
