Does silk-screening these days use ACTUAL silk?
Ok, this may be a dumb question. But I'm shopping for throw pillows, and I found some that are non-feather filled, which makes me happy. There are some that are pretty, but here are the specs
* 16" x 16" square
* 85% Polyester, 15% Viscose fabric content
* Knife edge seams
* Silk screen design on pillow front only
* Same fabric, front and back
* Color matched concealed zipper closure
* Dry clean recommended
The 4th bullet point says 'silk screen'. Does that use actual silk? I've heard that silk-screening is "just a name" but I just wanna be sure. Below this is a link to the pillow

Silk screen design implies the the design is printed with the silk screen process. It is a process were ink is pushed through a screen with a resist design in it. The ink can only go through the screen where the design lets it go through and embeds the ink onto the pillows fabric. The material in the screen now is usually polyester. This has nothing to do with the fabric of the pillow, which can be pretty much anything. Hope this helps.
