Silk Narrow Tie
If fashion is not your strong point it can be very awkward when trying to find a nice neck tie to go with your fashionable shirt. Picking the wrong tie would just defeat the object of a fashionable shirt altogether.
Fashions are constantly changing and what was once in style can soon be out of style. Neck ties are no different in this respect. One day you can be fashionable with a broad neck tie and large knot and the next day it can be a slim neck tie with a very small knot.
Color has always played a big part in the fashion scene too. If you are wearing a shirt that is of a solid color then try not to buy a solid color tie to go with it. It may feel like a safe choice of attire but it can limit the amount of clothes that it can actually go with in terms of fashion.
If your shirt has stripes in it then you could in fact pick out one of the colors and find a tie that matched this color. For example if the stripes were Brown and white then a brown tie would look quite nice. Patterned shirts can be easier to find ties to match them. If you have a patterned shirt where the pattern is quite small you could get a tie with a bigger pattern on it to contrast the style. At the same time if your shirt was the one with the bigger patterns on it then choose a tie that comes with a smaller pattern on it.
Collar sizes on shirts can make a difference to what tie you should be wearing too. It would look quite silly if you were to wear a broad tie with a thick large knot and your collar was only narrow in width. Likewise a thinner tie with a very small knot would look pretty foolish with a broad collar. Keeping tabs on the fashion magazines such as Esquire and GQ is also a good way to find out what the latest fashion is at the time.
