Name of a historical romance novel set in scotland where a scottish lady was ordered to marry a knight?
by the king of england, I think it is set in medieval times. Anyway, the novel begins with the girl tied up and waiting to be burnt alive and she recalls how she got to this point. The knight and lady married and after they got married, they had to endure a public bedding. The uncle and father plot to drug the knight and rescue their neice and daughter, but the girl discovered that she mistakenly poisoned him and she ran away with her clansmen. On the way back to scotland, her father was shot by and arrow and died. The knight survived and came to scotland to claim his land. The uncle later tried to kidnap the girl and have her marriage anulled so that she could marry someone of his choosing and reclaim his brother's lands and keep for himself. She refused because she had fallen in love with her husband. The uncle then tries to burn her alive for treason but the knight rescues her.
That sounds very much like a Kinley MacGregor book. I think it might be Born in Sin, one of the MacAllister books.
