My mom is 40 years old. She is going to marry a man in Jamaica next year november. This guy is 43 and has never had a child. My mom has high blood pressure, stomach problems and is going through pre-menopause. She also has her tubes tied and plans on spending 6 000 dollars to get them untied. i told my mom that i don't want her to have another baby. By the time she does i might be 18 or 19 and she will be 43 when she decides to have a baby. Do you think i am being selfish by asking my mom not to have another baby, even though by that time i will be 19 or 18?
It's not really your choice whether your mom should have more kids or not. I think you should voice your opinion to her so she can take it into concideration, but after that back off.
But for some good news for you, the chances of her conceiving are quite low. Tubal reversal is something like only 25% sucessful, and if she is already starting menopause...I think its safe to say you will be an only child.
