Casual Fridays in almost every office throughout the world are known for their fashion faux pas. Many people seem to misunderstand what casual Friday actually means and in the end throw any kind of reason out of the window and turn up with the craziest ensembles.
The important thing to remember when you dress casual is to try and keep it neat and presentable at the same time. If you have decided to roll into work on casual Friday wearing the same thing that you most probably would when washing your car then you need to give you outfit a serious rethink.

Why not accessorize with a skinny necktie or neck scarf, these accessories will smarten up even the most causal of outfits and neckties are also very much in fashion. If you want to wear a long sleeved shirt to casual Friday then why not get some funky themed cufflinks to match. There are plenty of different styles of cufflinks that you can choose from.
If you are going to wear a t-shirt remember that you don't need words to make a statement. Steer clear of offensive or smart slogans that may jeopardize your credibility at work. Use your own intelligence and wit instead, you don't need your t-shirt to speak for you. Do not wear sleeveless t-shirts to work, they are just not suitable in an office environment.
When it comes to footwear don't even think about wearing flip flops. In general beach wear is a definite no go at the office. People don't want or need to see your toes nor do they need to see your knees so keep shorts for when you are at the beach or sitting in your own back garden. The rule about flesh exposure in the office doesn't only apply to women so remember that! If it really is warm outside then why not wear some khaki trousers or pressed liner trousers with moccasins? Don't wear the trainers that you have had for five years and look as if they are capable of walking around on their own, although they might be the comfiest things in your wardrobe you wouldn't wear your slippers to work would you?
