Budgeting your income with a bi-weekly pay system can payoff twice a year. Think about it... You average 2 paychecks a month which is 24 checks right? But on a bi weekly system you actually get 26 paychecks. Your extra paychecks depend on which week you get paid. For some it is April and October 2010l, and for others it is Jan and July 2010. All you need to do is create a budget as if you got paid twice a month. Just make sure that when the extra paycheck comes, you are on time with the due dates of your regular bills with the 2 paychecks that was allocated. I would suggest using the extra check at the end of the month. Then you know that you are still on time with your monthly payments. If you are like thousand of Americans living in today's recession you are probably accustom to living paycheck to paycheck. So in theory is should be simple to have a little extra money in your pocket twice a year.
Make sure to take the opportunity to catch up on some bills, put some money away, or even make the big purchase that you have been wanting to save for. I use this month to always put away for Christmas and several of my kids birthdays. But, being able to plan for these months is critical and should be in your homes yearly budget. If not, than more than likely you will not be able to capitalize on this bi-weekly system.
I have used this money saving system to buy some very large items like a counter depth refrigerator and a apartment size refrigerator.
