Nylons as air filters for PC fans?
I would like to hear from anyone who has tried using nylons as air filters for fans in a PC. Are they effective for catching a lot of dust before it enters the machine? Do they slow the air flow a lot? I'm trying to find a solution that will reduce dust enough so that I don't have to constantly worry about large accumulations of dust inside the machines. I've heard that the fine threads and close weave of nylons can trap a lot of dust without slowing air movement down too much.
I neglected to mention that one reason I'm considering nylons is that I can just drape them in front of the air intakes and then replace them each time I see dirt on them. I'm really, really tired of seeing dust clog a machine and having to carefully remove dust from the inside.
Yeah, nylons/pantyhose are actually better than most air filters that are made for computer cases.
Lol, steel mesh is to keep small animals and hands out of the case..not dust.
