What Graphics Cards are available for a Slim PC 220 PSU!!!?
Alright, I'm in a real bad situation for my computer. I have an Emachines El1333-21f (I got it for X-Mas so its better than nothing). It's an HTPC and here are it's specs.
AMD Athlon LE-1660 processor
NVIDIA Geforce 6150 SE graphics
500GB HArd Drive
3GB DDR2 Memory
PSU-220 W
I've been looking at a lot of graphics cards to choose, and there are some available for even my low wattage. But it's difficult because I'm constrained by these factors
-The PC is Slim so I need a low profile graphics card
-The PC is Slim so upgrading the PSU isn't really possible
-I only have a 220 W PSU
I would like to be able to play fairly recent games, but honestly the only game I would be upgrading this computer for is Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2 (if you don't know what it is think of Company of Heroes)
SO in your opinion are there any graphics cards that fit these requirements?
Your main limitation is the 220W power supply, you cannot get too big a video card. I'd try to keep it below 50W for the video card. Check this site, they often list the power usage for a given card near the bottom....

Then go get your list of low profile cards from Newegg or where ever, and look at ones costing less than $50 to start - those are usually the lower power ones...
You can probably get up to a ATI 5550 card easily, maybe a bit better like a 5570... In Nvidia, they all seem to use more power, but a GeForce 210 will work in that system, maybe some of the 8400 series as well.
Not sure about what games you can play with those videos, you are severely limited with that desktop.
