Calling all brides and make up artists?
Can you please recommend tried and tested make-up for my up n coming wedding day.
Want to avoid shine, blotches, 'cakey'ness and constant re-applying while being the radiant and flawless beauty ive always wanted to be.
At the moment testing Helena Rubenstien n Clinque foundation, clinique seems to be winning, also heard Smashbox is good but not tried yet.

Thanks for the tip but where possible we need to do the wedding on a budget.
Im quite capable of applying so it looks decent, just needed some advice on brands as do not usually use foundation, primers etc.

For foundation, try Phenomenal Foundation by Laura Geller. I started using it since last year and absolutely love it. Better than Clarins or Dior! It provides such a radiance and superior concealment when used with a flat foundation brush. On days I use it I don't even pull out my LORAC concealer. It also makes pores look smaller - I'd never use foundation on my cheeks before as it often emphasized imperfections. Not this one. I even bring it under my eyes without caking that I could never do with any other foundation. For my very light skin tone I use it in Light.
Also try Bare Escentuals foundation - I use it on regular days because of sun protection or dust it a bit on top of Laura Geller's foundation. For makeup primer, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is the best.
For mascara, I love Clinique or Lancome. For eyeliner, try Stila shimmery kajal pencil (brown is great on anyone) and a touch of gold right under you eyebrow arches to visually lift your eyes up. For a cat look, try Smashbox Waterproof Cream Liner with specially bent brush and line both top and bottom rims of your eyes (this will require some practice). Or just dot your eyeliner over the lower lush line for more natural effect. I like extending the top line from outer corner a bit and make it stronger on the edge.
For lips, MAC lipstick is always the winner for me - stays the longest and looks the greatest )) For blush, go with NARS or Smashbox soft lights duo and put some beige shimmer on top of your cheekbones to lift them up.
For effect of slimmer face and nice cheek bones, use just a bit of Laura Geller sculpting baked powder or any dark beige powder on hollows of your cheeks (remember to blend well). Get some of it under collar-bones and right under your chin for thinner look if needed.
For eye shadows I'd go either with Clinique or BE if you have sensitive eyes. Get the light shimmery shade on inside corner of your eyes and all over eyelids, then apply darker shade on outside corner and in the crease. Keep it natural - beige and brown eye shadows are universal colors for anyone. Also try Stila kitten with shimmer - gorgeous for weddings. Lilacs and pinks are very hot lately but require some skill to apply.
In the center of forehead, along bridge of your nose and along laugh lines, try Prescriptives Illuminating Cream Potion. It may look somewhat too shimmery, but photos come out amazing! Use a bit with a flat foundation brush. I now use brushes for everything - they keep finger oil away from your face. Even for lipstick - it looks more natural that way. Just wash the brushes frequently.
But generally, use something you've tested in advance and loved - to avoid any unpleasant surprises on your wedding day. Congrats and all the best wishes on your special day!
