Im mixed race with REALLY curly hair and i cant tie it up tight and slick it like i see others do, how? x?
So, im mixed race - half english [[white]] and half jamaican [[black]]
My hair is extremely curly, not one of the gorgeous loose curled ones but instead, tight, frizzy curls.
I keep seeing mixed race girls with their hair tightly slicked/pulled back into pony tails or whatever their called for us and i cant get my hair to pull back tightly. My hair always loses tightness when i tie it up and i just dont know how its done because i have never been good at that. Any tips on pulling hair back tightly for thick haired mixed race girls?
Also, i cant slick my hair at all or anything and i am bree embarrassed to ask my friends, so any tips on that?

Do this while your hair is wet. Use a moisturizing curl cream (like Sunsilk) and run it through your wet hair. Then comb your hair through with a pick, then put it back into a ponytail. You will likely have to use a regular comb to make sure it's all even and smooth.
I have the same hair as you and it's frizzy curly but my curls are looser. Frizzy is not pretty. I have to use products and style my hair when it's wet. I don't bother straightening it, way too much work and not worth the effort. I use products for curly hair to help me.
