DKNY (Dona Karan New York) is a prestigious fashion label created by the fashion designer, Donna Karan in 1989, and it is also the name of a clothing store in New York city where Donna Karan's associated line is sold. After graduation, Donna took up a job in Anne Klein and drew the attention of designer Patti Appall. Under prodding and guidance, Donna Karan began to be a designer.
Therefore, in the year of 1989, Donna Karan and her late husband, Stephan Weiss, unveiled her own label named the Donna Karan New York. In the following years, with the goal of combining comfort and luxury in her creations, she innovated boldly to create vast and random selections for the customers. In 1996, DKNY became a publicly-traded venture, and later in 2001 LVMH, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey, purchased this great fashion brand.
Now, DKNY has had 70 Donna Karan collections and DKNY stores globally which are located in China including Hong Kong and Shanghai, in Canada including Vancouver, B.C. and Montreal, in Dubai. Its products have expanded to jeans, accessories, underwear, shoes, baby clothing and menswear.
