Is it safe to use vinegar to remove a stain on a necktie?
I have a 100% silk tie with a stain on it - one of my favourite ties as well, the yellow one in my avatar actualy.
It is not overly soft and more of a firm silk necktie. The stain is a small brown stain about half way down which I think might be curry sauce from last night (yum, was almost worth it!). I hadn't noticed the stain until I took my tie off and hot water hasn't completely removed it though it has improved it a bit.
I remembering hearing years ago vinegar is good for removing stains from neckties. Can anyone verify this is true? (preferably from experience!) And if not what else is a good solution for removing stains from silk neckties?
Personally, I would try one of the new Oxi-cleaners. They won't leave you smelling like you just had a douche like vinegar
