What is your opinion?
I'm a 16 year old girl who has short brown hair and blue eyes. I am a lesbian. I dress in all mens clothing, but its mainly things like abercrombie and fitch and hollister, things like that. The only makeup I wear is eyeliner and mascara. I have had a girlfriend for a year and a half, and our close friends and her mom know about us, but we aren't out. My parents don't know. She is coming to my school this year, and I have never attended a homecoming or prom because I would not feel comfortable wearing a dress. My style would be black pants, a white dress shirt, and probably a pink tie. I really want to go this year with my girlfriend, however, I am afraid to wear that outfit. I am afraid people will criticize me, and make fun of me. I am also afraid that my mom will say something bad about it. Do you think I should go anyway, or what should I do?

Let me first say... i can totally relate. no dresses for me. and i would wear something like what you described. and i think you should go. i mean- this girl matters to you and you've been with her for a year and a half? i mean... wow. that's amazing. take the night out with her, and make her feel like a princess. if she wants to go, you should definitely do it. obviously you and your girlfriend are incredabley close, so if someone did say something, you know you'd have her there with you. and also- being an out lesbian is hard enough- if you can, ignore the people that say anything bad. because your mom will love you no matter what, and the kids at school who make fun are losers anyways for doing that. do this for you and your girlfriend. good luck.
