would you buy a silver or black colored camera?
If there was this one camera that came in two colors, black and silver. which color would you choose and why?
Assuming all the other specs are the same, I'd get which ever one I could talk the salesperson down lower on. Usually this will be the silver one because the salesperson knows that people often times have the mentality that a black camera is more professional, so they don't budge much on the price. When truthfully, a camera without weather sealing, is still a camera without weather sealing regardless of the color of the body. A camera with a small buffer and slower continuous drive, is still a camera with a small buffer and slower continuous drive whether it comes in black or whether it comes in silver. You catch my drift?
With photography, the end results are the important thing, not so much the look of the equipment. My well used 24-70 f/2.8L shows considerable wear, but its performance is top notch.
However, as mentioned, the color black hides some of the blemishes and dirt a little better than silver does. If you intend to sell it, you will find that a black body is easier to sell than a silver body. Again, its mostly due to the mentality that black=professional.
