How to buy the right tie for a guy?
I've been doing some searching in looking for a good quality tie as a Christmas gift. But, I'm slightly confused. I understand that most ties come in a standard size of 55-57inches and a 3 1/4 to 3 3/4 inches width. Also, that to check if the tie is cut properly by looking to see if its symmetrical and to hold the narrow part of the tie up to see if it twists. Ok, so my first question is, should I trust the tag that says "100% silk" or do I need to know any other methods to see if the tie really is good quality silk? Second, what are some places/brands that sell good silk ties but without the $100 price tag?
I thought searching for a tie would be much easier but I was clearly wrong *sigh*.
