1 ) I heard you should store your box of uncooked rice in the refrigerate after opening it, to preserve the brand oil, is this true ? Because, I just put my box of uncooked rice, in a plastic bag and tie the plastic bag after opening.
2 ) I bought this brand of rice and the ingredients are, LONG GRAIN PARBOILED BROWN RICE. It has a stamp on it that says "100 % whole grain. An excellent source from the wholegrainscouncil.org " I see the USDA printed on it, which recommends to eat 3 severing of whole grains, but it does not claim to be organic. Is this rice still healthy to eat ?
If it's white rice, you can keep storing it the way you have been. If you're talking storing BROWN rice, unless you eat it often, then store it in the refrigerator.
BTW, it's the "BRAN OIL" that goes rancid, bran is the outer hull of the rice grain. In "white" rice, that is removed by processing the rice before packaging.
'Organic' is a tricky definition: Everything that is NOT rock or is organic, basically........
